Annual General Meeting

Wednesday 12^thNovember 2pm

Our next Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Wednesday 12^th November, 2pm. The venue for the meeting will be announced in early October. Please make yourselves available to attend this important meeting for our organisation.

During the AGM, members will confirm or vote candidates applying for the roles within the management committee (e.g. President, Vice-president, Secretary, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, Course Co-Ordinator, IT/Web Manager, Ordinary Members, etc.).

Have you thought about getting involved in the operation of U3A Shoalhaven? All positions in the committee will be open for nominations. Joining our committee could provide you opportunities to gain knowledge and skills, to expand your network, to challenge yourself, to develop new perspectives and ideas, and to build your confidence. The process of nomination and election will be communicated in early October.

U3A Shoalhaven Constitution

An updated version of our organisation Constitution will be available to members for review in early October. This Constitution will be voted during the next Annual General Meeting (AGM).

An information session for members to provide a summary of the changes to the Constitution will be organised in mid-October. Details about this event will be provided to members in early October by the committee. Once approved, the Constitution will be registered with NSW Fair Trading and the Australian Charities & Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC).

2025 Term-4 Program

Mon 20^th Oct – Fri 12^th Dec

Work has commenced on the Term 4 Activity Program, which, so far, will see the return of Patrick De Gabriele doing his presentation at Nowra and later at Shoalhaven Heads, there will be a presentation on Impressionism, a user-friendly session on Artificial Intelligence, two sessions on Family History, a film outing to the Huskisson Cinema, a John Davis travelogue on New Zealand, a visit to the Shoalhaven Community Radio Station (TripleU FM), a Dementia Talk by Steve Swan at Bay & Basin (look out for other new courses coming for Bay & Basin), etc.

John Davis will also present the‘Great White Whale’ film, which we showed earlier this year, to great acclaim from the many members who attended them. Glenn Kolomeitz has indicated he should be able to do a presentation this term as well. In summary, Term 4 will feature 40 to 45 activities.

The 2025 Term-4 Activities Program will be available from Friday 26th September. The enrolment period will commence Wednesday 8^thOctober for online and postal. In person enrolment will be on Thursday 9^thand Friday 10^th October, 10:30am to 12:30pm at our office in Nowra(5/48 Berry Street, Nowra), and from 10am to 12:30pm each weekday in the following week leading up to Term-4 start on 20^th October.
