Term 2 Greetings to all U3A Shoalhaven members

Yes, the end of the holiday break is in sight as we commence our second term on Monday 5 May and run through to Friday 27 June.

We are now on FACEBOOK and on INSTAGRAM. Check them all and LIKE whatever you can.

Also, here is our TERM 2 ACTIVITY PROGRAM.

The MyU3A ON-LINE enrolment system is now officially opened, so you will be able to do your course(s) enrolment(s) online.

Walk in enrolments are on Wednesday and Thursday (23 and 24 April) this week at our 48 Berry St Nowra rooms from 10:00am to 2:30pm.and all weekdays of the following week from 10:00am to 12:30pm.

There are seven new courses including THE GREAT WHITE WHALE movie (separate from the Movie Club, it is about a mountain climbing adventure); VEDIC MEDITATION; a talk on the Historic Aircraft Restoration Society museum (as well as a tour of the museum a few weeks after the talk); the THREE VIEWS TRAIL WALK (with Graeme Cord).

VOLUNTEERS

are sought for two Committee members to fill vacancies on our Management Committee caused by ill health of two of our original members. It is important to keep up our numbers to ensure we have sufficient backup to conduct business on member’s behalf. Please contact the Secretary, Raul Arregui, on 0418273504.

EASTER RAFFLE

Our Easter Raffle was a great success, having raised just under $1,000.00. A BIG THANK YOU to members JUNE HURST (who donated the prize of a magnificent basket of Easter Eggs) and GLENIS BROOKING (the two Finance subcommittee members) who organised this and especially to the many members who sold the tickets and THE WINNER IS: LYN HUTCHISON, who is a long-standing U3A member currently studying Advanced German.

On the subject of thank you, a HUGE VOTE OF THANKS goes to ANDREW and DENISE STEVENS, very long-standing members and frequent past committee members, playing a solid part each in the development of our U3A, as they have put their money where their belief in the value of U3A is by making an unsolicited DONATION OF $2,000.00. They both continue their support of our U3A with practical advice and suggestions. THANK YOU BOTH !
